A Professional Guide to Cleaning Your Prada Nylon Bag in Three Easy Steps

Clean Your Prada Nylon Bag In 3 Simple Steps

Due to the positive feedback on our previous How-To posts, which covered topics such as cleaning and restoring Gucci Marmont hardware, preventing discoloration on Louis Vuitton’s Vachetta leather, and removing color transfer and dirt from white leather bags, we are excited to present another helpful guide. In this tutorial, we will provide you with a simple, three-step process for cleaning your Prada nylon bags and nylon SLGs, regardless whether they’re black, pastel, or otherwise! Ready, get set, let’s go!

You’ll Need:

  1. Gentle liquid soap
  2. A bowl of lukewarm water
  3. Soft Towel / Microfiber / Lint-free cloth
  4. An additional clean soft towel / lint-free cloth

Liquid Soap Bowl of Weter

Step 1: Liquid Soap

First things first, empty your bag. Then, fill a bowl with lukewarm water, and add a few drops of gentle liquid soap and use your finger to stir in the soap. Stop when you see a bit of suds appearing. If no suds are visible, add a few more drops of soap.

Step 2: Wipe Bag

Immerse your soft towel / microfiber / lint-free cloth into the bowl of lukewarm water-soap mixture. Squeeze dry to remove excess liquid from the cloth, and begin gently wiping the bag’s surface. If there are stains, apply gentle pressure in a slight circular buffing motion. Do not apply force as it might result in the nylon fibres being pulled. If the interior of your bag is also made of nylon, you can repeat this same step for the interior of the bag.
Note: Nylon is a water-resistant and weather-proof material but leather isn’t, so please Avoid zippers, leather parts, and hardware in this step.

Step 3: Blot & Dry

Blot handbag with the additional clean towel (item no.4 above) to remove excess moisture. Leave your bag unzipped and let it air dry.
Please ensure that you do not use any artificial heat like hairdryers or heaters to speed up the drying process, and do not leave your bag out in the sun as fading might occur.
Note: water may be absorbed into the nylon, so leave it to dry naturally for a few days before using it.

And voila! There you have it! A clean Prada Bag! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy, ain’t it?
