Louis Vuitton Revives Iconic Classics for Spring 2025 Runway Debut

As Nicolas Ghesquière closes out a decade at Louis Vuitton, a new chapter begins.

Ghesquière’s Spring 2025 collection, unveiled yesterday in Paris, marks this transition. The designer continues to honor the House’s heritage and the legacy he has established at the Maison.

Opposites Attract

This season, Ghesquière experiments with proportions, blending his signature tailoring with unexpected volumes. The collection also features a retro-meets-futurism vibe, with graphic, ’80s-inspired prints alongside puff sleeves and drop shoulders.

Defined by intricate details, the collection showcases sheer overlays adorned with stones, fringed skirts, and various embellishments. Asymmetrical elements further the narrative of juxtaposition, creating a bold, contrasting story.

Bold Bag Designs

The bags this season also embrace contrasts. Classic Monogram pieces are updated with exotic trims and intricate straps. The Speedy and the Neverfull make a vibrant return to the runway in bold, exotic materials. The Petite Malle is adorned with futuristic stones, while a classic trunk features celestial artwork by French artist Laurent Grasso.

New shapes are also introduced, such as a soft, unstructured leather carryall with top handles and a detachable strap, and a structured square bag available in both leather and exotic versions. The GO-14 and the Side Trunk receive the same treatment as the ready-to-wear collection, featuring metallic fringed detailing.
